Beer flavor DNA
Pick any of 15 iconic American beers. See its complete recipe genome — grain bill, hop schedule, yeast, water, process — with click-through to every ingredient. Compare two recipes side-by-side, or browse all recipes of a given style.
How this works
The recipes are 15 carefully-researched clones of iconic American craft beers — Pliny the Elder, Heady Topper, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Two Hearted Ale, Anchor Steam, Founders Breakfast Stout, and 9 more. Each clone has grain bill percentages, full hop schedule with timing and amounts, yeast strain, water profile, mash schedule, and editorial annotations explaining how each ingredient contributes to the final flavor.
Sources are linked at the bottom of each recipe — brewer interviews, published clone recipes, brewery websites. These are approximations of beers brewed at scale, not exact specs. Use them to understand the architecture of each beer, not to commit infringement.
