Craft beer in Barcelona

The scene
Barcelona is the unquestioned center of Spanish craft beer. The scene grew up around two anchor breweries — Garage Beer Co (Eixample, with a second location in Poblenou) and Kælderkold/Edge Brewing (now operating partly as the same group) — and has matured into a network of brewpubs concentrated in Eixample and around Poblenou, with bottle shops in Gràcia and the old town. Spanish craft leans strongly toward IPAs and hazy styles, with Mediterranean fruits showing up in seasonal beers. Most spots open afternoon and run until late.

Getting around & local context
The Metro covers everything — L1 and L3 hit most craft destinations. Eixample is the densest cluster (Garage, Maresme, BIRRA 08 within walking distance of each other). Poblenou is the up-and-coming beach-adjacent district with the bigger Garage location. Most bars charge similar tap prices (€5-7 a pint). Saturdays get crowded — reservations help at the popular brewpubs.
