Craft beer in Mexico City

The scene
Mexico City's craft beer scene grew rapidly after 2012, when changes in distribution law broke the AB-InBev/Heineken duopoly's grip. Roma and Condesa are the densest craft beer neighborhoods, with brewpubs like La Roma Brewing, Cyprez, Pacheco, and others. Cyprez is reportedly the most-awarded brewery in Mexico. Mezcal often shares shelf space with beer in bottle shops. The Mercado Roma food hall holds Pacheco Taproom — a great food + beer pairing destination. Mexican craft beer leans toward IPAs and stouts, with local fruits and chile occasionally showing up.

Getting around & local context
Metro + Metrobús cover Roma/Condesa. Most brewpubs open mid-afternoon. Pricing is reasonable (MXN 80-130 per pour, ~$4-6 USD). Roma Norte and Roma Sur are the densest clusters — walkable in an evening. Many bars serve mezcal alongside beer — try a flight if you're curious. Tip 10-15%.
